How To Make A Dresden Plate Blade Template

How To Make A Dresden Plate Blade Template @madebyChrissieD.com

Don't have a Dresden Blade template and want to make a Dresden Plate in a hurry?
This is how you can make your own.

These measurements are for a 20 blade Dresden Plate - that's an 18° template.

What Do You Need?
a piece of template plastic OR a piece of card/cardboard
- if you're really in a fix, is there a cereal box in the kitchen cupboard you can 'borrow'?
- if you're really, really in a fix, you can always use paper, draw around the paper template onto the fabric then use your ruler and rotary cutter safely!

NB:  Rotary cutters should only be used for cutting alongside templates that are the correct depth to make using them sort of safe (we've all heard the nasty stories and seen the facebook pics).  Please be safe and, if necessary, use scissors instead - you can always pretend you're working below stairs in Downtown Abbey before the age of the rotary cutter and try to make it fun.

The first set of instructions are for a standard, blunt end, Dresden Blade

and these next instructions are for a full centred Dresden Plate - no hole,

Please DON'T trace either image - they are not to scale and your work will be ruined.

You need to draw the image yourself using the measurements I've given you and a ruler.  Cut out your template and you're away.

A speedy solution for anyone needing a Dresden Plate Blade template in a hurry.
